RIM hat ein neues Patent angemeldet, was Werbung aufgrund von Schlüsselwörtern in Mails erlauben soll.

Hier ein Auszug aus der Patentschrift:

This (advertising) may be done by examining content in the message handled by a mobile device and matching portions of the message with predetermined criteria such as keywords or phrases. Upon finding matches, corresponding multimedia content is associated with a respective portion of the message content and access to the multimedia content is enabled through selection of a linking mechanism that is visually identifiable with the respective portion of the message. The message is modified to include such linking mechanisms such that upon viewing the modified message, a user may reveal the multimedia content by selecting the linking mechanism. It has also been recognized that multiple layers of multimedia content can be provided such that different types of user interaction can reveal different forms of multimedia content.

Aber keine Sorge, nicht das ihr meint ab Morgen werden alle eure Mails analysiert. RIM hat hunderte Patente angemeldet die nie zum Tragen gekommen sind aber trotzdem denkt man über die möglichen Konsequenzen nach!

Liebe BlackBerry USer,

für das BlackBerry Master Control Program (MCP) steht ein Update auf Vers. 0.9.3.0 Beta zum Download zur Verfügung.

Folgende Änderungen finden sich in diesem Update:

• Desktop Manager is now automatically closed when MCP starts OS installation process
• MCP's "Application Loader" icon now has the ability to continue a failed OS installation
• MCP OS Management is now compatibile with either Shrink-A-OS or CrackMem
• MCP Touch, Gestures and Touch Keyboard! Hmm... iMCP?
• Added Shrink-A-OS download and website to the MCP Downloads page
• MCP Home page showed "Copyright 2009", changed to 2010.
